I enjoyed an outing with Liverpool Urban Sketchers last Saturday. We were based at the World Museum in William Brown Street . I climbed to the top floor where there is a wonderful panoramic view of the city. I have just been ambushed by a deputation of the students from this year’s holiday in Olhào at a talk I was giving on Urban Sketching. I could see them lurking at the back of the room and when I finished they cornered me and presented me with an absolutely brilliant momento of our week at the Casa Rosa. I very rarely use one of my sketches when I am out and about to create a work in the studio. Our Urban sketching meeting for August saw us down on the shore at the Dee estuary in the”boat’s graveyard” The choice of subjects was amazing with rotting hulks as far as the eye could see!
