Cavemen Vs Pictograms

This large work touches on many themes which I have investigated over the years. I have always been intrigued by cave paintings and it occurred to me that humans have come full circle in representation of themselves from the stick men of the neanderthals through the Renaissance detailed works, through realism into abstraction of the form in the 20th century, and back to the pictograms developed for the Munich Olympics. The history is written around the the shapes and forms the "cave" whilst pictograms hunt the Aurochs and other early age animals. The surround of the picture alludes to the "education" we all enjoy about our history without ever thinking laterally in this way to make connections across the centuries.
