Just returned from a voyage on the Azamara “Quest” sailing from the Canaries to Cape Town via many fabulous destinations, not least being St Helena a little pimple of an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Teaching on the 11 sea days was great fun. Our classes were well attended with a great group of really enthusiastic guests. Many of them trying watercolours for the first time , although you might not believe that if you saw some of the pictures which were produced! There was a great sense of community on board with just 560 passengers on the 18 day sailing and this sense extended to the classes. I must say thank you to the entertainments team on board who were a great support and of course to Pat without whom it would have been impossible to run the classes so effectively! And of course thank you to everyone who attended the classes for their enthusiasm, informed discussions and humour. On to the next “gig” The Queen Victoria in March 2025.
A few sketches from the trip below along with me and the missus on St Helena.
