A Week teaching in Olhào, Portugal

Graham Thew September 20, 2025

I have just returned from my second “tour” to Olhào in Portugal, teaching at the Casa Rosa Boutique Hotel. What a fabulous week! 12 very enthusiastic “students” wonderful weather and fabulous food. We sketched in and around the town in the mornings returning to our base for lunch and painting in the afternoons. I did a variety of demonstrations and talked on subjects pertinent to Olhào, Doors and windows, birds (including the nesting storks Olhào is famous for) clouds, people, the market stalls and shadows.  Everyone was very enthusiastic and in between some very determined and high standard painting a LOT of laughing was done.

I attach below some of the demonstration pictures I undertook and a couple of group photographs. A big thank you to one and all for making the week so memorable!
