We have just returned from a week in Ireland , both Northern Ireland and the Republic. We had a wonderful time, the landscape is so varied, green and interesting. Our first day was a bit of a wash out, fairly solid rain, although I did manage a sketch of Port Stewart from the shelter of the car! Quite a challenge trying to get the effect of rain in a sketch. The weather improved for the rest of the week and I completed a  few sketches which I was pleased with. Whilst sketching the Irish cottages, I was approached by a lady, an amateur artist who was keen to chat about art the universe and everything ! lovely Irish banter , she invited me in for a cup of tea when I had finished. The Irish are so proud of their Island and traditions. Just great!
